A judicial magistrate in Karachi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Dania Shah in a case involving the alleged circulation of objectionable videos of late television personality Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
The Judicial Magistrate (East) ordered that Shah be arrested and produced before the court after she failed to appear for the hearing.
During the proceedings, Shah’s lawyer filed an application seeking exemption from her personal appearance. However, the court rejected the request after the complainant’s counsel raised objections.
The case was registered by the cybercrime authorities on a complaint filed by Aamir Liaquat’s daughter.
The court adjourned further proceedings until October 28.
