KARACHI: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a man accused of harassing and blackmailing women using their private images and explicit videos.
According to the NCCIA, the case came to light after a woman lodged a complaint during an open court session held by the Additional Director of the NCCIA Karachi Circle. Acting on the complaint, the agency arrested the suspect within six hours near Millennium Mall in Gulistan-e-Johar.
Investigators said the suspect allegedly obtained the victim’s private photographs by promising to marry her and later used them to blackmail her.
During the investigation, officials reportedly found explicit videos of several other women on the suspect’s mobile phone.
According to the NCCIA, the suspect allegedly gained women’s trust under the pretext of providing rental cars before using their private images to blackmail them.
A case has been registered against the suspect, and further investigation is underway.
